The theory certificate is necessary for obtaining the driver’s license and must be in possession of the candidate before he is going to take an Interim Test or the exam. We recommend that you complete the theory before, or at least as soon as possible after the start of the practical lessons. This prevents disappointment when the exam or an interim test may not be taken. To learn the theory there are three possibilities: self-study, online course at Theorie Toppers or a classroom course (RECOMMENDED) at Theorie Snel Halen (ask for this at the driving school).
The first option is to learn the theory as a self-study. You can choose from two study packages which you can buy to learn the entire theory. The first package consists of a traning book, a question book with photos and a USB stick with theory exams that are comparable to the exams of the CBR. The second study package consists of a DVD with explanation, questions with photos and mock exams. A theory book is no longer necessary so you decide for yourself how you get the knowledge you need.
The second option is a theory course online at THEORY TOPPERS click on the link or ask for this at the driving school.
The third option is a one-day classroom course (RECOMMENDED) at THEORY SNEL HALEN click on the link or ask for it at the driving school.
Some facts regarding young people who want to get their theory:
Passing the new theory exam is often not possible without taking theory lessons and practicing exams.
Only 15% of young people go to the theory classroom of a driving school.
85% of the young people refuse to sit in a theory room for 8 long evenings or 2 whole days. Those 250,000 (!) boys and girls try to pass the theory exam through self-study. For most, that means dropping one or more times.

When you are ready to take a theory exam, you can reserve your theory yourself at the CBR at www.cbr.nl. If a theory exam during the day is not possible for you, it is important to know that exams are also taken in the evening and at the weekend.
Important to know: only book your theory exam via www.cbr.nl, when you search for “theory exam” via a search program, a list of search results will appear in which the CBR is unfortunately not mentioned first. The other websites mentioned also want to earn money from your theory application and therefore you will always be more expensive than if you do this via the website of the CBR.
Look out! You will need to bring the following when you go to your theory exam:
Valid proof of identity (European ID or Passport)

It is best to book your theory exam at the CBR. Unfortunately, it happens all too often that a search is done via Google, you get various websites as search result. However, these websites earn money from your theory request and they do not have opportunities for a quick exam.
